Jean had planted these rhizomes a few months ago, but in late August 2017 they are in full, intense flower. I painted small (5x7), but thoroughly enjoyed sketching the plant's typical flower appearance, then painting it within about an hour and a half. Fun! 170820. Watercolor, 5" x 7".
