Jean calls the Tarweed or Common Madia (Madia elegans densifolia) flowers that dot our property "humble." Yes, they are kind of leggy, and in the heat of the day when the flowers close up, they could be cut down as useless weeds. But in the mornings when it is cool, their wonderful circle of petals is so beautiful, like little happy faces. They're not easy to paint, but I hope with the darker background the bright blossoms can be seen in all their glory. 251102. Watercolor, 10" x 10".
