Watercolor: Dancing in the Fields - 20" x 14"

April 2021 was a great month for iris blossoms at our house. One of the most beautiful is a blue-purple iris that grows in abundance around our lawn. I tried to get the color correct with Daniel Smith Cobalt Blue Violet, charged here and there with Cobalt Blue. I love the colors! The background was achieved with Quin Burnt Orange and Indanthrone Blue, couple with lots of salt to make interesting patterns. These irises seem to dance in the sun! Watercolor.
